43 residents - 12 single rooms - 14 double rooms - 1 treble room - ensuite facilities - personal effects - TV points & phones in rooms - suitable for wheelchairs - lift to all floors - fire alarm - emergency lighting - nurse call facility - category of residents: long/short-term stay, geriatric, post-operative, convalescent, physically disabled, holday stay , terminal care.

 

Many daily services are provided as standard at Atlanta House although Tom and Noeleen are happy to bring to the home any service that will add to the enjoyment of a persons stay.
A shopping service is provided for those unable to get to the local shops. Quite often more mobile residents will bring messages back for their friends who are unable to get out.

Letters
are posted and pensions collected ( with permission ). A visiting Library service provides a constant choice of large print and audio books.

Bank officials and solicitors
will visit the Home to deal personally with residents in private.

The following services are available on a daily basis but are paid direct to the person providing the service ; Hairdressing, Dry cleaning, Physiotherapy and Chiropody Social, Speech and occupational Therapists visit when required.

Staff accompany residents on visits to local dentists, opticians and hearing specialists nearby if required, when family members or friends are unable.
The Eastern Health Board provides an Ambulance service to take qualifying residents to recieve treatment. A private ambulance service is also on call.

Accommodation


Atlanta House has a wide range of facilities to ensure a residents every comfort. The Home has been extensively and caringly upgraded over time to allow everyone to he cared for in luxury. All public rooms are of a first class quality allowing the Home to offer the highest standards in the very spacious surroundings. All rooms have space for folk using frames or wheelchairs. The bright rooms are large with high ceilings together with large picture windows and are decorated to an excellent standard with carefully co¬ordinated colour schemes. The Home has many fine pictures gracing the walls with vases of flowers giving welcome splashes of colour to the rooms and wide corridors. All windows are double glazed and the central heating radiators are individually controlled to ensure that all residents are comfortable.The lounge has plenty of seating in high backed chairs offering a good level of support where residents and visitors may spend time chatting. This room, which acts as the hub of this charming Home, has a selection of daily newspapers and current magazines. The dining area is used as the only smokingarea, with constant supervision, in the Home. A second quieter lounge offers space to entertain visitors. A large, cosy lounge has been added at the rear of the House which has views over the garden and a patio reached through the double doors. The whole Home has been carefully designed to ensure easy access for all. All areas are reached by excellent low level ramps, with a passenger lift allowing easy access to the upper floors. The many corridors and landings connecting all of the rooms are beautifully carpeted and wide enough to allow gentle exercise. Open courtyards surround the home with mature flower beds providing colour all year round. The secluded garden is a popular spot for picnics during better weather or simply used for peaceful walks in the fresh air.

Category of Residents

Atlanta House provides a first class service for a wide range of needs. These include short and longer term care.
Categories include geriatric, disabled and physically handicapped.
Also accommodated are the visually impaired, bed bound patients, those recently having had a stroke and holiday or respite care.
Special care needs including individual 24 hr nursing can be arranged. Incontinence wear is provided at cost.
An excellent environment is also provided for post operative Convalescence. On arrival either Tom or Noeleen ensures that the new resident and their family are introduced to other residents and staff members. After choosing a suitable room the family group are shown around the Home and are welcome to stay as long as they like to allow the new resident to relax into their new surroundings.

 


 
 

  Security
The welfare of everyone is of paramount importance. Security measures include floodlit
grounds, a secure perimeter with plenty of off road parking and a safe for valuables. The main door is kept locked at all times. A current fire safety certificate has been issued with the latest equipment being available to the fully trained staff. A quarterly fire drill is also carried out.
